Description
Cows travel in herds across the plains, scraping up the low moss-like grass to eat. They also feed on the patches of wheat (also called tall grass) that crop up around their mating season. Like all animals of Minecraft, cows are hermaphroditic and mate shoulder-to-shoulder, one or both partners producing a single calf. The herds are often accompanied by slimes, naturally solitary, slug-like grazers that have a mouth at the center of their muscular foot. They follow cows for mutual protection, but are able to evade or confuse enemies when on their own by quickly contracting their foot to hop and bounce/roll away. Slimes are mouth-brooders, giving their young (up to four in a clutch) a safe hiding place place with easy access to food.* All characters/creatures are from Minecraft, property of Mojang and Microsoft *

Are Mooshrooms cows infected with a cordyceps like fungus?

It's more of a symbiotic relationship, but the concept is similar.

Just like any animal's milk; it's a nutritious fluid produced by a parent organism to feed its offspring.
In Minecraft cows' case, it seeps from specialized glands in a patch of folded skin on the animal's belly.

First of all... I REGRET NOT SEEING THIS SOONER. This whole project is such an amazing idea!!!
I had a similar idea ages ago but never really acted on it. Glad you did!
I hope we get to see even more of the alien world called Minecraft.

It's my interpretation of Minecraft's mobs and their interactions as an alien biosphere, yes.

This is such a cool idea! I absolutely love the thought you put into these and how you translated the blocky designs into something more organicΒ

Thanks! It's been pretty fun trying to imagine how they all evolved and are related to each other, and how they might fit into an ecosystem.
