Description Ruby-Winged Jetbirds are common in Epimethius' Down Plains, feeding on small radioarthropods and discarded seeds. They travel by extending their wings and combusting naturally-produced hydrogen in specialized chambers, enabling astoundingly fast travel. Their bulbous bodies are largely hollow and light, making such biologically expensive flight easier on them.

Yes, it is a strain on biological functions. That's why jetbirds are far from being endurance flyers, only moving around in high-speed bursts. They also have an extremely high-energy diet (fruits, nuts, and/or small simple animals) along with highly efficient digestive and respiratory systems that work together for their combustion flight.
