Some more robots from my authoritarian transhumanist series. Inspiration from Boston Dynamics (very cool).Magazine article “An Androids best friend? Exciting new 4 legged robots revealed”
The limelight of this year’s NAU robotics expo was mostly claimed by the next generation androids line-up, however that’s not all that tech enthusiasts have to goggle at. Here is our brief breakdown of some of the most exciting quadruped droids unveiled so far!
Biohybrid Robotics performed a live demo of the SWAT Panther Infiltrator, a new deadly stealth unit. Its most striking feature is bio-printed xenobiological feline limbs, derived from induced pluripotent XNA stem cells. This allows for superior silent stalking compared to its electric actuator predecessors, complete with claws to aid close combat. The demo showed off the Panther’s impressive Wi-Fi based Through-the-Wall Sensors (TTWS) and thermal imaging, with participants hiding in a maze to be swiftly hunted down and tagged with a laser.
We also got a look at the Police DogDrone, clocking speeds of 60 km/h on a treadmill. It sported a lightweight Hagfish slime fibre Kevlar covering and extensive muscle cell based actuators derived from gene edited sea slug buccal muscles and ganglia. A taser is fitted at the mouth in addition to firearms for non-lethal takedowns. These are expected to be rolled out across the NAU later this year.
Dynamic Robotica showed off the latest in commercial robotic pets, SpotRex Deluxe 5. This model will have the most sophisticated bioelectronics on the market, highly touch sensitive to respond to its owner’s affection as well as detecting environmental and health hazards to protect you. A flexible graphene screen skin allows for great aesthetic customisation and as always with Dynamic Robotica products, the AI is full of personality that adapts to your individuality.
Chimera Synthesis announced it will be utilising the new LabM8 robots to accompany its HazmatBot Androids in all its facilities. This autonomous assistant will hopefully boost productivity, with multipurpose capabilities from pipetting to culturing. It also has a handy PVC covering to aid decontamination in quarantine labs.

Reminds me of the robots built by "Boston Dynamics".
Look them up, you'll see what I mean.

The biological feline limbs on the SWAT Panther Infiltrator look so... wrong.
But hey, at least one can't blame the Biohybrid Robotics for a lack of creativity!
