Some spur of the moment lunacy.Alas there is a significant absence of TARDIS and Amy Pond.
At least, considering the limitless nature of science in the Doctor Who universe, it is plausible that this scene could occur.
Trapped in an alternate reality where everyone's a Beatrix Potter character? Stranger things have happened.
Anyway, the doctor should have been a honey badger, and for that, I apologise.

I tend to base my decision on popular opinion or whatever obscure fanon I can find. If that's the case, he'd probably be an owl (Maybe European eagle owl?)

This really does make a neat (but strange) sort of sense - DoctorBadger & RoryRat! If there were to be a follow-up, may I suggest AmyHamster? If only for the conversation Matt Smith & Karen Gillan had in a 'Doctor Who Confidential'.

In a series 6 'Doctor Who Confidential', Matt said Karen reminded him of a hamster. So that was why I suggested "AmyHamster"!

Admittedly, I'm not as obsessed with Doctor Who as other fandoms and don't catch all the episodes let alone the extras, so thanks for helping me out there.

I'm seconding Squirrel Amy. There's something vivacious and energetic about squirrels that hamsters don't really have. And I can't help but think of otters for Oswin/Clara/whatever her name is (Sweet, playful, clever etc).
