Description

As the Drazirians spread out to locate the source of the rocks, Ranyx and Oraku were able to sneak over to the back of the outpost's cabin.

"How long have they been out here building these things?" Ranyx wondered out loud.

"Oh, about six months," Oraku said, "This is one of their oldest, I think."

"Wow, I wasn't really expecting you to know that."

"We've been spying on them for quite some time. We had hoped they would all come up here so we could live in peace, but NO. Ah, here's a window. In, quick!"

They quietly slipped in through the window to find a single Drazirian sitting on a stool, his back towards them. Oraku sprang over, snatched the stool out from under the Drazirian, and knocked him out with it. The layout of the cabin was identical to the one Oraku had been imprisoned in. Ranyx tried the door, but it was locked. Oraku was already digging the keys out of the Drazirian's pocket. He tossed them to Ranyx, who hurriedly unlocked the door and rushed in. Noryx was in the first cell, badly beaten, but alive. Ranyx reached through the bars.

"Dad? Dad, wake up," He said, shaking Noryx gently.

"Ranyx? How did you... Nevermind, get me the Hell out of here," Noryx said.

"Don't worry, I've got help," Ranyx said as he opened the cell door.

"Help? From who?"

Oraku peeked inside, "Greetings! I am Oraku Goldfeather, member-"

Ranyx interrupted, "Yeah, yeah, go check the other cells," then gave Oraku the keys.

"Right," Oraku said, "Your dark-skinned friend is probably out of rocks by now. The Drazies will be back soon."

Noryx said, "Who's he talking about? I thought Max..."

"Yeah, no, Xartak's back," Ranyx said, "He's helping too, so maybe hold off on the court-martial?"

"If we make it out of here alive, I'll think about it."

Noryx tried to walk into the other room, but had to brace himself in the doorway, clutching his side and panting. Ranyx asked, "Are you all right?"

"Just a couple of bruised ribs, I'll live," Noryx huffed, "What about the others?"

Ranyx turned around and was glad to see Hezner, Jenex, and Beshop had been released by Oraku. Hezner and Beshop had a few cuts and bruises, but were otherwise themselves. Jenex, however, was staring vaguely into the middle distance.

"Jenex? Buddy, what's wrong?" Ranyx said.

Hezner answered, "Last night, the Drazirians took Vestor and Logez. We don't know where, but we heard... screams. We never saw them again, and he hasn't been the same since."

Ranyx looked past them and noticed the cell Jenex had been in was the only one with a window.

"Jenex, listen to me," Ranyx said, "Whatever you saw out there, that's not going to happen to you, alright? I'm gonna get you out of here, I promise."

Jenex nodded and seemed to regain his focus, but remained silent. Just then, Xartak appeared in the window they entered from and said,

"Hey, I was able to lure most of the Drazirians away from here, so we should go now."

"Agreed," Noryx said, "We're in no condition to fight this many Drazirians."
