Description

This was a silly idea I quickly knocked together when I suddenly noticed that over the past few years I have accidentally modelled all of the ships and mecha on this one particular line-art page for the Japanese TV show Super Dimensional Cavalry Southern Cross aka Robotech.

I love the line-art for this series and even though I love modelling stuff from it I always find it interesting that making something realistic - even when being as faithful as possible to the source material - doesn't necessarily make it better. The line art has a certain expressiveness that seems to be extremely hard to capture - probably the same thing that makes other types of stylistic art forms so appealing - and it allows room for your own mind to fill in the blanks with particular feelings the way a more realistic piece would not.
