This is why Ponyville got overrun by Parasprites, and Twilight is attacked by bees so often...I think I will do a few more of these...

Seriously. I would have somepony look at that. Do they have exterminators in Ponyville? Or did Fluttershy drive them all out by making sad faces while they were harming even the smallest of animals?

They also tried to organize a protest on a World of Warcraft server. A game that revolves around killing pretty much anything that moves. In a zone where much of the local storyline revolves around a group that's a pretty obvious parody of PETA.

By the way, what I recently noticed and might be a helpful hint: Be carefully with the text to image ratio. What do I mean? If you make a single panel comic and your punchline is based around a graphical joke (like the Mythbuckers), the amount of text you can add to the image is rather low. Otherwise you spent a lot of time reading the text, after the punchline is over already (because you already saw the whole image in the meantime) - or to express it differently: The text slows down the fun incredibly. Dunno, there might be a comic-writers rule of thumb about text-per-panel out there.
In this comic for example, the top right speech bubble is not necessary for the joke. Also I think the position isn't clear enough - I somehow read it like "left, bottom, - whoops, there is a bubble at the top".

I have to agree with you... I had a hard time positioning the text bubbles on this one, because Al's text came out so long.
The core joke on this one was not necessarily Fluttershy protesting, it was the implied FlutterHulk at the end. I couldn't figure out how to get there in one panel without fluttershy's first comment, and Al's sexual harrassment (which no one has commented on yet...) which made his Text a bit long.
This one would have probably been a better 2 panel, but I have a lot less time recently, since I have 45 page of papers I am working on
My next one using this background (with the CMC) will definitely be more visual.

hm *sees the flank line* Well.. sounds kind "in character" to me.
Also I somehow missed the Flutterhulk to some degree.. wut..? Another case of "another panel would have helped here", like a serious facial expression with half of the sentence and maybe a slightly greenish taint. You know, [link] style or so. Ideally a comic should be understandable without a single written word. Experiment a bit without that, maybe

Yep, I agree. I think my best comics (Follies 14 and Mythbuckers 3) are the ones that the text is secondary to the pictures in the comic.
I think it's all really part of my creative process. when I delve into a new area, I tend to be text heavy until I define the environment to myself... Then, when I am comfortable, I let my drawings do more of the talking.

Lol. Well Fluttershy's heart is in the right place, but just like our PETA, her protest is flawed. The difference is I like Fluttershy. Mainly because she isn't a bitchy, self important, hypocritical ass like Ingrid Newkirk. And those are probably the nicest words I have for Mrs. Newkirk. So yeah, as long as Fluttershy doesn't become Ingrid, I'm cool with this.

Yeah, like when they had that offensive campaign called The Holocaust on your plate. They compared slaughterhouses, to Nazi Concentration Camps. It was quite easily one of the most offensive things I've ever witnessed. I agree that animals should be treated with some level of compassion, and respect, but to hold them, to a higher standard than humans is ridiculous.
