Appearance

Brief Description:
A white and grey tabby with amber eyes and long fluffy fur. She often skulks around when she walks, and her paws are fluffy and heavy. Often has tangled fur.

Personality

Asphodelpaw does her best to be a good cat. She worries for the fate of her clanmates, especially the younger ones. She won’t tolerate bullies or unfair treatment, and though she cannot speak up, she’s not afraid to let her displeasure be shown.
Asphodelpaw also keeps a careful eye on the weather, waiting for the day lightning strikes through the sky and water rushes past the shores. She’s deeply afraid of drowning or being buried alive and she likes high places. She sort of resembles a herding dog, skulking around the lighthouse with watchful eyes and a tense posture. She will force herself into other cats’ drama if she suspects anything sinister, and does not usually have a delicate paw about it.
Her watchful nature can make her clingy, hounding her loved ones and becoming cross when they spend time away from her.
At heart, Asphodelpaw misses playing and getting into mischief, but she’s too worried about divine punishment to attempt such things. Subconsciously she’s tied her own behaviour to the state of the world—if she’s good, things are good. If she’s bad, then the Guardians will punish her.
While she wasn’t always very devout, the giant wave of terrible destruction has convinced her that the Guardians are real, just not very merciful, or benevolent.

History
[Kitten]
Asphodelkit was born with her four siblings soon after her mother had left Moorclan. Flaxpetal was reluctant to tell any of her children about her ex-mate, or the tom she had cheated with to get them. Instead, she made up elaborate stories, pretending their father was a fae prince, or that they were gifts from Mara.
Asphodelkit thought this was all grand fun. She knew that these stories were tall tales, but they did distract her from asking any real questions about her biological father. Instead, she spent her time pretending to be a serpent, a rain cloud or a warrior of old. She often tired her lazy mother out, jumping and chewing on everything. Asphodelkit couldn’t help that she was high energy!
She doesn’t especially put much stock in any of the guardians, believing them to be similar to her mothers’ silly stories of myth and wonder.

Asphodelkit’s childhood was cut short rather abruptly. On the day of a gathering, the weather became violent, eventually resulting in a tsunami which swept up Coralclan camp, and began heading towards all the cats at the gathering. Asphodelkit managed to survive thanks to Ivoryfrost, who brought the kits from camp just in time. She was then separated from her siblings as the water drew closer and cats rushed to escape. Koipaw ended up grabbing her and bringing her to safety, over falling rubble and past dangerous tremors. Asphodelpaw fell into a landslide but was luckily rescued before she was buried alive.
The clans final grasp for safety was to climb Skies Reach in Ridgeclan. Luckily the waters didn’t reach them here, but they were all well aware that anyone left behind was dead.
Asphodelkit reunited with her siblings but was forever changed by the experience. Asphodelkit attempted to cope with the trauma by staying silent, a marked differences from her previous cheery behaviour.

As an Apprentice Asphodelpaw’s life is far from ideal. She lives in the lighthouse with all the other cats of the clans. As traumatized as she is, she finds it hard to act as a normal apprentice. Her mother is dead, along with many other cats from every clan. She has a hard time leaning on others, and has no idea how she’s going to fulfill her duty to her clan—or if she even has a clan right now.
