Theme two for

For a quick description:

I used Gabby's story this round due to the fact 98% of the characters are the bird's I've had as pets, but humanized. However, instead of making all their clothes inspired by parakeets, I went a different route. I used to categorize which of my birds had which dinosaur ancestor just for fun and I figured I could put them in dino inspired clothes instead!

Here are some of the main characters adorning their dino gear.

Gabby - Parakeet (she's not based off a bird, so she gets to be a parakeet)

Long description:

Powerless in short is a story about an island full of people who have powers.
When they hit the age 18, they leave their family and live on this island where they are safe in a community. When the government needs them for something, they can go on special missions, but mostly they return to the island when they are done. They can choose to live integrated with society, but then they'd have to give up their powers. Almost all the characters in this story are based off my birds I've had throughout my life. So their names and personalities/colors/powers are all inspired by my actual birds.

I figured it would be awesome to use them for this task. However, I didn't want to make them all parakeet/budgie inspired clothes.
I used to tell my birds that their ancestors were dinosaurs and I would guess which dino they descended from. However, I only did that for my first few because once they started making babies, it didn't make sense to make up a whole new species the babies descended from.
But I still figured it'd be a great idea.

Going from left to right:

Name: Gabby
Power: Telekinesis
Backstory of bird they are based off of: No bird. Gabby is extremely loosely based off me. She's basically the "mom" character who knows everyone's drama and watches out for them.
Outfit inspiration: Since Gabby isn't based off a bird, she gets to actually have parakeet inspired clothes. I mimicked coloring and added feathers to the outfit.

Name: Sammy
Power: Pyrokinesis
Backstory of bird they are based off of: Originally named Samus after the main character in Metroid, I had gotten Sammy from the pet store. However, I took them home and their cere was super bright blue. Sammy also acted like a male around Kylie. Kissing her, singing to her, and being overall very dominate. (tried to get on top of her, but Kylie wasn't having it ) Then one day I put a nesting box next to the cage. Soon, Sammy's cere turned brown and she laid eggs. You can see the silly comic I made here. Kylie and Dawnstar are in the comic too:
Outfit inspiration: I pegged Sammy for being a descendant of Velociraptors. For her outfit, I went after the more traditional, semi-historical hypothesised example: res.cloudinary.com/dk-find-out…

Name: Beanie
Power: Invisibility
Backstory of bird they are based off of: We don't know how or why Beanie got his name. But he did. He was quite a gentlemen, though. Especially for a bird. He was very social and actually showed compassion...something you don't really see in a bird.

Outfit inspiration: Beanie had quite the power to his wings. So it seemed fitting to pretend he descended from a Pterodactyl.

Name: Kylie
Power: Telepathy
Backstory of bird they are based off of: Named after Kyle Reese from Terminator, Kylie was my very first bird I owned all by myself. She was a queen bee for sure, but I loved her.
Outfit inspiration: Kylie I figured was a descendant of a Triceratops.

Name: Dawn
Power: Teleportation
Backstory of bird they are based off of: Dawnstar is named after a city in Skyrim. In real life, she's the child of Beanie and Sammy. Unfortunately, Sammy isn't the smartest bird and had trouble taking care of the babies since she was super small. Beanie helped sit on the eggs with her and would often take shifts with her in feeding the babies. However, this caused Dawnstar's legs to grow in a bit weird and she developed splayed legs. I tried fixing it, but Dawnstar wasn't doing so well when I tried keeping her legs together. So instead, she grew up with this disability and I just spoiled the crap out of her and completely redid the cage to make it accessible for her. And she absorbed it...too much. omg she's a spoiled brat. But she's been living an incredibly healthy life and even had babies of her own.
Outfit inspiration: Instead of making a velociraptor/pterodactyl hybrid for her outfit, I decided to just give her an outfit based of a T-rex.
