Sooooooo.... Me and my friend were talking about how dA always posts stuff like this, and gets on the front page ALL THE TIME. SO. What we did was I took a picture of her, and jokingly said we would get front page, which I know will not happen ever since I am not popular and don't do super popular art that everyone loves. Therefore, this will never be on the front page. Ever. Even if you told all your friends about it. I think it would be a revolutionary breakthrough if this was on the front page, but what are the odds? It's divided by zero, that's what.Anyway, that kind of ends my rant a bit, but I just kinda wanted to prove a point, and so did my friend Bethany. We were also tired of boobs and naked chicks being on the front page as well. I mean WAT. Seriously. And the sad part is, no one will read this description. Many dA people will never be noticed for their hard work, and it's sad. OKAY. OFFICIALLY END RANT.

I think perlers should be super popular seeing as how there's no such thing as a shortcut through making them plus they're super cool when they're finished. Digital art is the "in" thing nowadays but the thing that a lot of people neglect to recognize is that the textures are rarely made from scratch for that original picture. Digital artists just snag textures from texture artists, but the digital artist is usually the one being praised for them. For example, I see comments on a digital art piece that says, "Nice use of texture!" even though the artist claims not to be the creator of said texture. Yes, we get it, you used the texture well, but that's not very hard to do when you're just using it as a background for your picture. You can't do that with perlers. Either you made the entire thing or you didn't. . . I hardly know what I'm talking about, but whatever it was it made much more sense in my head. I hope you at least get my point, though.

I get what you are saying, and I understand greatly. Thing is, I have this thing on my phone called Instagram, and basically makes a texture for you. BAM! Done. No effort what-so-ever and this picture pretty much ranks with front page material. Unless I somehow broke the system by showing it to a lot of dA artists. Not just this picture, but my perlers. Even the "super famous" DrOctoroc: [link] has WWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY better perler skills than me than I'll ever have. Yet, I've never ever seen him in the front page. I don't even understand, I mean.... That's real, raw talent right there, and he's basically like in the back of dA, no one ever recognizes him. In one of my perler submissions, I said he was one of my inspirations. It's too bad he didn't inspire others or isn't even that well known. It's really sad.

I'm glad you understand. This person may seem popular, but I can find a traditional artist that's even more so, which is agreeably very sad, but popularity kind of sucks anyways. What with people wanting to troll, scam, and flame you all the time. Sometimes I'm happy that no one knows about me.
I think that if you keep practicing at your perlers you'll be as good as him someday. Noted, what he does is incredibly hard and very, very time-consuming, but it really shouldn't matter if you honestly enjoy doing it.

Yeah. Maybe one day we will be heard. Maybe. One day. But sometimes that's hoping too high. And I sure do hope I become as good as him one day.
