Study of a photo of Maximilian Armour  , taken by Anthonyjonker23.

Which is actually a term of plate armour early 16th century style with elaborate decorations and other stuff. And not the armour of some dude called Maximilian. Well, originally it might have been, which gave the style his name.

I may have crossed the line for speedpaint, but I'll try to sneak it in. And 55 of those minutes were pure ornamental. Even with paste and warp. I probably should have just done bit's of it and hoped peoples eyes did the rest of the heavy lifting.

Maximilian was once the emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, where they developed the Gothic armour style. That could be recognised by its decorations, the elegant look it had and such. And this armour came forth out of the Gothic armour.

Why is it called Maximilian armour? I have no idea. But I believe it's cause it was developed during his reign (seems most logical to me).

Thank you, and considering they were a right old time sink, it's nice to know someone likes them
