so as it turns out, redesigning is actually quite calming to me so i think that's why there's been so many this past week c,: or i'm just eager to get to the villains

so last out of all the siblings (and perhaps the least) is zephyr shybreeze, fluttershy's younger brother! i'm still kind of figuring out pony naming conventions, i guess in this case "shy" is the last name of fluttershy's family which is why i added it onto zephyr's name for my next gen universe

small warning for some minor internalized homophobia, nothing serious though cause i don't want too many dark themes in my universe. it resolves happily lol

so, to address the biggest thing here... zephyr's obsession with rainbow dash. this is obviously a creepy dynamic in the show, even though it's played off as comic relief. i guess just speaking from personal experience, it's not as funny when it's happening to you and is quite uncomfortable so i sympathize with rainbow. so, in the sugarverse, zephyr's "crush" is played out a little differently

Zephyr has always had issues with self-image. He may seem like he thinks he's all-that, but it is very much a front for his insecurities. He feels like he's a big failure since he never really figured out what he was destined to do (I mean, his cutie mark and special talent are literally "go with the flow"), and this insecurity grew larger when his older sister became an element of harmony and savior of equestria, for pony's sake. Part of this insecurity is also stems by him not really being like the other colts. That meaning, Zephyr is gay. This upset him as a young colt because 1) no other colt felt the way he did, it seemed and 2) he was afraid of being a stereotype. He didn't like the traditional "boy stuff" and was more into design and decorating. This led him to kind of "choosing" dash to have a crush on, since she was the filly he knew the best since her and his sister were close friends. Dash never really picked up on why he did this so it just made her uncomfortable, but Shy always sensed something weird about the behavior. There was actually a point at a flight school dance where *Dash* came to *Zephyr* asking for a dance, if not to just get him off her back for a while, but he actually chickened out.

Some of y'all know that Flutters is married to Treehugger. Later into the siblings' adult lives, Fluttershy calls a family meeting to explain how she has a girlfriend, and that they're actually getting married soon, and she really wanted her family to attend. Fluttershy and Zephyr's parents have always been accepting, but with how much they talk about wanting grandkids, flutters was always nervous about coming out as gay because she didn't want to disappoint them (sure she and tree wanted kids anyways, but yknow how parents can get sad if their grandkids aren't "biological" :/ ). Thankfully Mr. and Mrs. Shy were perfectly happy and fine with this outcome (frankly, they were scared she wasn't gonna find anyone besides Discord, who quite honestly frightens them). This was a huge moment for Zephyr, seeing his big sister take such a brave first step in the family. This causes him to do a lot of deep introspection and really examine himself and his life, and a few years later, Zephyr is ready to come out as gay to his family. Cue a big teary hug and what-not, Fluttershy tells Zephyr that she is SO proud of him.

Yep, so that's zephyr basically! I don't really have him paired with anyone atm but maybe i'll think of someone eventually haha. a lot of his backstory his based around my own life! though, *I'm* the older sibling and i haven't formally come out to my family, they just kinda... know, yknow lol

also, for fashion reasons, he keeps his front hooves natural but trims his back hooves. i like the idea that pegasi have light colored underbellies to help disguise them when flying overhead c:
