Overview
Built on the revived 8 series chassis, the 9Xr is an attempt to improve some shortcomings of the 8 series chassis, in particular it's architecture limited the range of motion of the mech's arms, which had a negative impact on it's ability to use a melee weapon. The original design had a much more fluid design, and so they essentially ported the 8Xr concpet to the 9 series chassis.
Capabilities
Almost everything about this design is the same as the 8Xr, aside from a mild redistribution of the armor, and the use of Clan tech ER Small Lasers. And it is the frst Spider chassis to use a Full Head Ejection System.
Deployment
Only just now coming off the assembly line, it has been earmarked for the Genyosha and Sword of Light regiments.
