Vulcan 'mech Machine Gun Assembly ortho

First things first, let's get the "well akshully" out of the way with.

The Vulcan for inexplicable reasons, carries it's ammo in the LT, not the forearm, and to the best of my knowledge, no canon source states the actual caliber of the Sperry Browning MG, or even it's configuration.

And also, yes, I am that big of a nerd when thinking thru details on my resigns.

In Battletech, MG generally range from 12.5-20mm (the m100s in the PXH-1 to the MGs in the Timber Wolf Prime), with IIRC one vehicular design in TRO 3025 being .30 cal (7.62) still.

My preference is to base it off of a loose hybrid of the the m197 20mm used in the AH-1Z Viper (A lightened version of the m61 Vulcan cannon... get it?), and the infamous GAU-8 of the A-10, just scaled down to 20mm.

Likewise for simplicity of ammo feed, I have long wanted to convince Catalyst to amend the blasted RS to move the ammo to the arm, as shown. Even better would be to only pack a half ton of ammo, vs 1 ton, but beggars can't be choosers. (but the VL sure wouldn't cry at the thought of an additional half ton of armor, ya know?) But as is, it uses a 4000 rd helical ammo drum similar to the one mounted behind the GAU-8 on the A-10, but sans the need for a return feed for the spent brass.

Anyhow, in all my AU Maverick Industries Vulcan refits and upgrades, this is the total machine gun package I had in mind when redesigning the Vulcan for the Mercenaries Kickstarter, instead of the somehat silly looking pepperbox gatling it seems to have been portrayed as.

Maybe I can get it into an ilClan era variant yet?
