Oh, "reading..." is THAT what they're calling it now? XDBehold, my first attempt at cel shading! Um... yeah, I know it didn't work too well, but it certainly looks different from my usual stuff, so I'm rather pleased ^_^ The characters featured here are Dorothy and the Witcher (and Mortius, the Crow XD), created by =Aboshi for her comic. A sample of her work of them (which is ultra nifty, go see it!) can be found here: [link] They're, like, totally my favorite EVER ^_^
Anyway, I had a bit of free time the other day and decided I wanted to sketch a pin-up style drawing, and Dorothy just kinda jumped out onto the page, followed by the other two. Don't look at the background, because it sucks.
So, about 8 hours of coloring in total, and here's what I've got. Hope you all enjoy it, especially you, M! *noogies*

Hahaha, no, no, you're right--it was my very first time trying anything like this ^_^ I'd like to give it another shot when I have some time, though not an anything as big as this. It just took WAY too long, and I'm a lazy bizzatch XD
Glad you like Dotty! Most of the boys seem to ~.^ And The Witcher (aka the blue guy XD) is by Aboshi's design. I only have 1 Courtney Crumrin comic and I don't remember Uncle Aloysus from it, but I'll hafta check again. I'm intrigued now XD

Wow, now that just looks awesome all finished up. I love this sort of shading, especially on Witcher. His face/hands in particular are rather good and I like how the background came out. Plus, the chair came out pretty good

I didn't know this was Dorothy when you showed me it under construction... Ah, so that would explain the similiar likeness in anatomy. Nice! XD
And while you think I'm good at drawing hair, I still think to this day you're much more talented at drawing women's outfits. This is great stuff, and the background ain't so bad. If I were making it though, I'd have added detail to every book binder and scream at myself afterwards. ^_^
