I wanted to draw something cute for Valentine's day and decided for this, inspired from a scene from my book.
Kayleen and Jane often tickle each other with straws of grass or scratches each others arms. Later Kayleen does it absentmindedly on herself with a straw when feeling homesick and Derek thinks she's crazy. Kayleen then shows him exactly what he's missing. His mind is blown and Kayleen has created a monster 8,D
So yeah, if you haven't had your arm/back scratched or face tickled, then you're missing out dude(tte)! xD

Hahah "murderous" is a good way of putting it. I understand. It's such a strong hate/love to work on a complex work, at least for me.

Woooooooh I see this the first time O.O Why I didn't see this before????
It's super amazing. The shading, the lights. Looks like a scene from a movie.
The soft expressions, the dialog. Everything is sooooo valentine-ish cute.
The hands are very well, too. It's nice to see the differents between little girls hand and the strong man hand.
I love to see "hard-shell" guys mellow by some cute affection. Hihi.

Ah! I wanted to comment it before and then totally forget it.
It's so suuuuuper cute and beautiful drawn. You really become better and better, I love how you draw anatomy and you don't hesistate to draw people with older or ugly features. And Kayleen, her face looks perfect, so cute and adorable. Then the tender pose and the pretty shadings. I am not sure if Derek's head turned out a bit huge maybe, but still he looks so cool.
They are one of the most unusual OC couples I saw on DA and I like that

Yes, I know that so well!!!! Sometimes you think you really improved and next time you just draw crappy shit that looks worse than before 2 years XD. But this picture with Kayleen and Derek ist very so beautiful. And flat colors are awesome when you know how to create atmosphere with it or when the lines are allready epic. And you do! And these two.....just cute!
Haha, I also have the problem that most time one head turns out bigger than the other. Damn! Mostly you notice it when it's too late.

I wonder how that is possible haha xD I think it shows art is just more than skill, it depends on something else as well. It's not like riding a bike. There's something more, something that can fuck shit up haha xD
I like to do linearts, then I'm having so much fun!
But for valentine's day and my babies Derek and Kayleen, I can make an effort!
And if it isn't the head, it's something else xD I often see all my mistakes after uploading, because then I get nervous xD But often I don't have the motivation to fix them, if it isn't minor ahha XD
