thats actually one thing I never actually knew... So it's a full scale helmet he wears? I was always under some random impression that it was like- a cloth mask pulled over a face plate or something haha

Ah, yup, it's a full-helmet! Made out of some made-up material that's really sturdy and hard to break, or something, haha! The design of the helmet - the white part that lines the edges of the front and the line down the middle - are actually reinforcement for the helmet, and helps it keep its shape. It's not just painted on or anything.
...This just made me realize I never explain anything about my characters and their designs unless I am specifically asked about it HAAHA
