You dont take real swords to train unless you have a wagon load to spare. People used wooden swords or even the Federschwerter.

Haha, but she is a kinda grumpy lady and she doesn't like people very much (with the exeption of her grandkid) so she might use a real (if a bit dull) sword to keep people away.
