Description
And here is my next skyrim-comic.This is something I encountered yesterday just after uploading the first comic.
Some enemies have absolutely no chance against me and some others are extremely overpowered, like the Mist Watch Bandits...
I stood on a mountain, could hardly see them myself AND was invisible... but one shot and I was dead...
Thats why I save almost after every kill, because I never know, if around the next corner someone stands, who could instant kill me just with a grim look
I love the Ice Spear!

Happens with melee too. Enemy is using a dagger (and not even a glass or ebony dagger, but an iron or steel) and decapitates me while I'm at 90% health. And no, I'm not playing on legendary difficulty when this happens; it's on default. It's s**t like this that makes no sense and makes me question if this game was properly beta-ed. Magic is stupidly under-powered later on, is questionably useful at the start too, and with s**t like this happening, melee is suicide since you can be one-shot, two-shot, or, if you're lucky, three-shot in seconds. Using a bow is the only way to stay alive. And even with all that, the NPCs are still hugely overpowered and killing me with one arrow.Β
So, yeah, I feel your pain. This game is beautiful, but it's also unbalanced to an unbelievable degree sometimes.Β

I have Dragonbone armor with an armor rating of almost 600 and I still get killed by the oddest crap if I don't make sure to keep my health full. It was sort of humiliating when I killed a dragon only to have a Spriggan controlled fox kill me.

Perhaps you leveled your Magicka a lot more times than your actual health? The enemies are getting better when you do. Even though some of them are still pushovers.
I got Molag Bal's mace and I'm almost invincible now. Especially with Shadowmere, Lydia and an Atronarch.

Yes that might be a reason, but I got really good defenses with the magic and my clothing .

Huh, and here i was expecting an arrow to the knee joke (slaps sense back into head)

that's the point exactly... those overpowered bandits have no need to aim for the knee!

huh, in all my Skyrim time i never had trouble with Bandits. Those damn super sneaky ninja assassin bears and saber cats on the other-hand......

Bears and saber cats were only a problem at the begin, but after i got "Fireball" and "Ice Spear" they were very easy to handle. But overpowered humanoid enemies are still a problem for me alone... good for me, that I can summon 2 Dremor Lords the same time. Now nothing is a problem .
Strange is, that dragons were very easy enemies from the begin.

Oh gads, I know. Sometimes I feel like "I am the most powerful mage in all the land, you don't stand a chance, weaklings!" next moment I'm the squishiest mage in all the land, cowering behind my atronach and follower, and searching my inventory for actual armour and potions. *facepalm*

if you could hardly see them: maybe the arrow counted as a stealthshot (3xdamage)
also NORDS (over half the humanoid population) are cold-resistant !
i mostly use shock-damage: lot less resistant enemies, excelent against other mages.
nice pic

No, they stood and was quite irrelevant with what spell I hit them... they had more health as a dragon!
Bandit Plunderers, Bandit Chives, Daughr Deathlords are also impossible... but I have now my Daedra Lord and Lighteningstorm... that helps .
I can kill a dragon with a 2/3 load of a lighteningstorm and turn it into a pile of dust, but those enemies need at least 1 1/2 loads of it... thats kinda insane!

I like the ice spear when I used it... HATED it when my companion Illia the witch uses it... she's the worst companion ever! After fights my back tends to be riddled with Ice spears, making me look like a pin cushion... then came the problem when I gave her an UBER powerful staff that shoots exploding fireballs... I was actually afraid to run into enemies or animals, cuz Illia goes crazy duel wielding ice spears and her fireball staff and blowing stuff up everywhere! WAY too much friendly fire incidents... all done to me -_-

Sounds like the right companion for me! I never go into close battle, so she could go mad with the spears . Where do I get her?

I hate when my enemies use those special moves against me and kill me in one hit.. while I sit in my gamer seat raging about being sooo much stronger.. I usually do overkill when I restart and then t-bag their dead bodies for revenge..

BjornKeks In reply to winterXroses [2011-12-07 13:30:59 +0000 UTC]
If it only were special moves... no some enemies just need to hit me and I'm dead and some stand absolutely no chance against me...
If I encounter instant-kill-enemies I usually send my Daemora Lord to them and wait in distance .
Or I use Lighteningstorm to overkill them .

I haven't encountered too many instant kill enemies.. But the dragon priest.. I have yet to meet one.. I hear he is hard to kill unless your pro at sneak attacks.

I meet instant-kill-people a lot, but the dragonpriests are not among them. They are like dragons... easy to distract with conjurations and no match for Lightning Storm . I'm glad that somehow since yesterday all are easy defeated by my Lightning...

Ahhh..I love fighting dragons. So much fun!! I have yet to meet one.. I'm still a level 20 and with college finals coming up, I have no time to play. Can't wait till winter break, I won't emerge from my room for a week! I mostly just use my basic Flames spell and Flame Atronach conjuration. I have a one handed weapon and spell equipped at all times. I haven't met anything too challenging.. other than two dragons teaming up on me at once.
