Description drawing I did a long time ago of a cypress tree, it has been photographed and extracted in photoshop as the picture is too big for scanning, I did not however change or edit the tree, just put it on a blank canvas in photoshop; so it is still in drawings, hope this will be appropriate

Oh my!
I like that you have filled the page and off-set the tree to the right.
You have a nice range of values in this. You have some good light to mid-tone values, but there are not any real dark values to this. It looks ti me like a tree on a cloudy day. Putting in more dark values where appropriate could make the tree more interesting and lifelike.
As it is, it is one beautiful tree study.
It's a very nice piece of work!

Hi,

I love this! I love the texture and the depth. I personally see a lot more light areas in this composition than dark areas. I feel like some really really dark areas that make an impact visually would make this image more interesting and capture peoples' eyes more.

Right now your eye glides through the image and off of the paper because there isn't a second focal point, or something "DIFFERENT" than everything else to shift your attention to.

Otherwise, this picture rocks. Very well done!

I am so glad you enjoyed my Cypress There are a lot more light areas than dark, some due to my taking a photo of the original and losing some of the detail when I transfered it to a digital format and some as I look at it again could definitly have been darker lines to add as you said some areas of interest. Thank you for your most kind words!

btw...just making your darks darker so that the lights have some separation(contrast ratio) may make this possible.
