Suspension hooks aren't shocking to me either, but I would classify it as a piece based on shock value. I understand art is undefinable (drives me nuts) but I have been thoroughly disappointed with DD choices for far too long. DA is entirely trend-based. I have yet to see something that wows me with originality. Except that lion fighting one.

Actually, the skin can be strong. They make sure to space out the hooks just right so that it doesn't rip. They are very careful with this.

Me either, but mostly because I'm a bit scared of heights. People usually do it because when the body is in a certain amount of pain, it will release endorphins which make you feel a wonderful high.

No, you're not piercing into veins or arteries, the skin does stretch a bit though. It's something that's been going on for generations, it's actually really safe to do as long as you go to someone who knows what they're doing.

Well are you hanging from a high height? If so than your weight would probably cause the hooks to rip through you. But if not, then I see what you mean.

Very beautiful. If you don't mind me asking, how does piercing for this sort of suspension work? I've always been curious, but I always run away when I hear talk of hook suspension pre-suspension being done... Not a big fan of needles, piercings or blood (I know there's never that much, but that's not the point! ^^")

I'm pretty sure that's 4 separate hooks pierced through the shoulder blade area of the back. It's the normal spot most people get this sort of temporary piercing.

Usually the blood is a single rivulet from each hole, but only after the hooks are removed. You don't pierce into veins or anything, so there's not an amazing amount of blood at all.
