i meant to ask in the past.. did you study these in school? do you also specialize in lepidoptera? like my invertebrate zoology professor?

they seem to be really closely related.. but A. statices seems to be blue, not green
anyway.. you're like a walking encyclopedia!
i have to get myself some literature on these so i stop looking so stupid to people:-<

I love this shot! I can see every detail of the butterfly's wing, even the texture! Wikipedia would be all over that shot if they could have it.
do you know what species it is?

well.. i should know.. because my zoology professor is a butterfly specialist,.. and heee... might have mentioned the name of the species a couple of times... but it didn't really stick to me

I know how that is!
I've never seen a butterfly like that where I live, though. The wings are so...I don't know. Like a precious stone of some sort.

No! I've been told I'm quite critical. You indeed have talent to capture that butterfly so well!
