Gabriel had doubted that Balthazar and Castiel would be suitable flying partners, since Balthazar's first instinct was to dive head-first off a cloud and Castiel pretty much had to be pushed off, but he needn't have worried; both were natural born flyers and could still be seen playing together long after the stars had come out...~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm not trying to break your heart, honest... but they were friends once, right?

I really like your canon here with Gabriel being kind of a Big-Brother angel to all of the lesser angels, whereas the other three ArchAngels seem to think they're above it all...

ADORABLE! Also, I love the signs they have poking out of the clouds, from the ever-useful-to-remember "Fly WITH the wind where possible!" to the lovely supportive "Keep those wings up!' to my favorite, "Watch out for aeroplanes!" XD
Also, the fact that they use a launching dock to let them try flying out (although it reminds me of launching warships to besiege Troy, for some reason...) is beautiful XD
Also, Castiel and Balthazar flying bonding moments are lovely soul-repairing goodness, and big brother!Gabriel making sure everyone gets to try out flight practice is adorable and sweet enough to create massive amounts of cavities~
