Description
A few layers of modifications have been made from Niphion’s Luminara race design and many lore and function changes to bring this race to life. I’ll remove it on request from them if they feel this is too many layers close to their original race, because respect between artists is a vital part of the lifeblood of art.

Long ago, there was a species of bird like humans known as the Zelur. They used their advanced technology and viewpoint from the sky to watch over and guide the humans of their isle. One day, their abuse of their technology caused a disruption in the flow of nature and began to slowly kill the planet. Each sub-species sought their own solution. The black winged Gaiwa shed their wings and tried to make use of a mechanism that would rebalance nature. The brown winged Deiwa went deep into the mountains and slowly forgot the ways of the above world. The green winged Zelwa took to the deserts where they hoped they could ignore the situation by surviving on barren lands. The blue winged Kaiwa finished their project of an underwater city and hoped the calamity would effect land alone.

But the white winged Cedwa that viewed themselves as paragons and leaders and had lead to this abuse were torn. Some tried to blame the coming collapse on others. Still others lived in comfortable denial. Those who were aware of their part in the collapse believed it was possible to mend the damage done. Their exact methods were lost to time and became little more than myth, but this small group escaped to the stars themselves.

This changed their bodies immensely. Their wings and bodies already sensitive to the ebbs and flows of nature now became attuned to the very fabric of the universe and emotional energy. Making it a part of their bodies, they became powerful beyond imagination and yet immensely fragile of both heart and mind.

Some space travelers claim to have seen them flying through the void. Sometimes they guide lost travelers home. Sometimes they have been seen just before a coming disaster or a sudden flash that erases pirates before they prey upon the innocent. Darker tales tell of them pulling wayward adventurers to Dark Planets or into black holes.

Either way, these winged legends are a mystery to most and the full truth of their origin is shrouded in mystery and the tides of time.
