Hello, first when I saw this picture for the first time I wondered what to do with it!!!,then it occurred to me to make the man in it an exploding man but color explosion not what you are thinking .
I tried all I can as much as my experience allowed me to make it as natural as it gets.
The image took about 8 to 9 hours of work, can you please give me your honest critic…
And please let me know if there are any mistakes or something wrong…

The idea is good...but you need to work on technique.
For example, the background texture is not realistic enough. Try to find more textures, there are tons of good textures out there...and combine different textures in order to create a realistic effect.
The shadow under his feet should be more detailed. Try to use a soft rounded brush with a very dark brown color and try to paint the shadow instead of using a big soft brush like I think you used now...there are tutorials on how to create those shadows...
and for the paint: layer mask will allow you to blend the paint onto an object or,like in this case, a model. Change the Hue of the paint so that it matches the color you are trying to blend it with...
Overall, great idea and concept....but your technique needs more fine tuning.
