Also, I only noticed on the third rewatching, but Vinyl's blast of coolness magic at the end neatly blasts away the "ei" logo - just in time for the gig. Nice touch.

uh, actually DJ PON3 was not an official name, but was made official by Hasbro in the commercial as a shout out to the fandom and a response to fanon's overwhelming reaction to her and how the FANDOM called her that.

I highly doubt that they wouldn't accept fanon calling her Scratch either, seeing as they pretty much acknowledge a lot of fanon things- like Derpy.
If the fans work up a movement over red eyes, it might become canon. They're a little more lenient with bg ponies. The only time fanon doesn't seem to matter is main ponies like the 6, the CMC, and the princesses.
