My entry into 's contest to create an original Ultraman or Ultrawoman, Ultrawoman Morganna.

Origin:

Originally Morganna was the guardian of a planet in a galaxy far away from Earth, but upon hearing about the disappearance of her brother, Ultraman Nero, left her post against orders to locate him. Nero had long ago been chasing after the powerful cyborg Gigan (a redesign me and my roomy were working on), and during his pursuit, had disappeared without a trace.

Over 20,000 years later, Morganna feels the reanimated life-force of her brother and arrives on Earth, only to find his power had been passed on to a young human boy named Shin Hayata, who secretly runs around Tokyo, Japan as a vigilantly superhero. When an reanimated Gigan begins attacking the Earth, it feels the presence of Nero within Shin, and attacks Tokyo to lure him out. Shin/Nero had no clue how to attack the giant monster, but with Morganna’s guidance, managed to grow to an even height in order to do battle with Gigan. But the Cyborg monster was a veteran fighter who had not only bested Ultras in the past, but had also mortally wounded the original Ultraman Nero before being struck down.

Gigan and Shin/Nero battled it out, Shin/Nero managing to hold his own and lead the monster away from the city with the aid of Jet Jaguar, (another redesign me and my roomy were working on) who had flown from the U.S. once hearing of the creatures rampage. (remember, redesign.). During the battle Shin/Nero’s power crystal was shattered, impaled on one of Gigan’s bladed arms. Not wanting to watch her brother die, even in a new body, Morganna gave half her crystal to Shin in order to restore his power. This caused a dramatic change and caused Shin/Nero not only to live, but advance his power to another stage for a short period of time, allowing him to beat back Gigan before it could finish off Jet Jaguar.

Afterwards, Morganna stayed on Earth to help train Shin into using his powers, stating his transformation to a second form was unlike anything she or any other Ultra had ever seen before.

Combat: Though she hasn’t demonstrated her combat effectiveness, Morganna is highly efficient in an alien fighting style similar to Tai Chi Quan.

Name: Welsh phrase ‘mawr can‘, meaning “great brightness.” or Welsh expression meaning “Circling Sea.”

Powers: Given she is a full Ultra, not having a host, she had infinite power, but giving part of her power to Shin cut her abilities in half, but made Shin’s all the more stronger, but for a short amount of time. Most of her powers lean more towards defense, while she retains one offensive attack. List of her powers below:

Energy Field: Able to generate an impenetrable force field. When she had her full crystal, she could hold it infinitely, but when giving part of it to Shin, she can only hold it for so long.

Ultra Psycho kinesis: Able to moving things with her mind and read thoughts. This is how she communicates with Shin. Doesn’t seem to be inhibited with half her power gone.

Flight: Able to fly through air or space. With half her power gone, this doesn’t seem too effected.

Teleportation: Allowing her to move from one place to another that she has seen or been to before. With her full crystal, she could teleport between planets in the same solar system, but with half her power gone, she can only teleport anywhere around the single planet she is currently on.

Dynamic Size Change: Can easily change size from either human or giant sized.

Clairvoyance Vision: Her vision extends into a wider range of the electromagnetic spectrum than that of humans, at least into infra-red and ultraviolet, and probably further to include gamma rays and X-rays. This doesn’t seem effected by her weakened state.

Healing Beam: At full power, not a problem to use, but given she is weaker, this is a risky power to use given it relies on her own life-force to heal others.

Ultra Blade: Ultrawoman Morganna can create a blade from her arm called the Ultra Blade. It is capable of cutting any foe in two. It covers her arm in a yellow energy blade when in use. When passing part of her power to Ultraman Nero, he gained the same ability, but his blade is much longer, and is blue in color.
