Okay first I want to thank everyone who's clearly been taking this seriously, yer all awesome and I'm sure you'll be a great help in making this game. That said, it was after midnight when I first discussed my concept for the game, thus did not enough of my visuals out there, granted without a visual, its kinda hard to describe.SO here's this, an very crudely fleshed out MSpaint concept of what I want the game to look like visually (well, not so bland, this is just an outline)
Don't take this one too literal, I'm well aware nothing makes sense, its strictly a visual.
So as we can see, there are three teams with their own colors. How the colors will be decided, I'm not sure yet. I'm not even positive how teams will be formed, probably random like I've done before, and like it is in Splatoon. Also as a note, this game would not have a "return player" bonus, so all teams will always start even. Blue filled in areas would obviously be the blues captured zones, and same for the other teams. You'll notice the bold lines and the thin lines.
The Bold lines represent the Zones, while the thin lines represent the sub-zones. Controlling a whole zone (bold) would give a team wide buff, that would be minor, like maybe +1 attack power or something. Being in a zone unconnected to any of yer zones will also have dire effectes, crippling yer Inkarina with big debuffs.
Certain areas would also have land properties, like forests, as I'd mentioned that Inkarinas live alot in forests. Forests would provide a bonus to defense to an Inkarina that is defending the area (assuming they control it). Also note that since they mostly live in forests, Inkarinas would all start in a forest. I don't know if I would make them set locations or random, probably set, so I can control the balance abit, but that may depend on how big the actual world is. The blue border lines would represent rivers, and as I mentioned before, Inkarina's are very weak to water, thus crossing a river would cause a Inkarina to lose slime. There could be mountains, giving defender a greater attack, or maybe there's a bombard skills or something. I show a lake there, but I'm not sure what it would be for, so I added it in to ask you guys what you think lakes could do. Remember that Inkarina's hate water, nor can they affect it, so no turning a lake into a slime lake.
While in freindly territory, you recover slime faster, you have a speed advatage (able to move multiple zones in a turn if they are yours). Maybe you could also slime farm, gaining slime overtime, but it would lessen the longer you do it, making going out much more effecient for gaining slime, although less safe.
You'll also noticed the citys and *cough*"people" on the map. These would be the random NPCs that would roam around. Some could be ones that Hunt the Inkarinas or maybe they're just victims that if caught could just provide a huge slime bonus to the team. These are actually most likely segments I would be drawing as well, if an NPC gets eaten, or captured, or perhaps inflated till they go boom like a big bomb that spreads lots of ink everywhere. Cities on the other hand are where most NPC will start, and claiming the city would provide huge slime bonuses, BUT will be incrediblely hard to take. You'll probably also have to take over the rest of a zone before you can go after the city. Cities can also possibly free themselves.
As far as taking a new zone, it won't be as simple as just walking on it and claiming it. Or maybe it will be, I don't know, but I know that taking a zone and landing on it will not happen in the same turn. Taking a zone would take an entire turn, unless perhaps theres a skill or something.
You'll notice the zone where both pink and green Inkarinas are, this would signify a battle taking place. Obviously with more people Pink has the advantage. However there will be options in a battle, such as attacking the opposition, defending yer point, or focusing on spreading slime. The battles not won until one side covers the area in their slime, winning them the territory, so technically there could be survivors on both sides as if pink would gain 100% slime coverage during the battle, any green inkarina would be forced to flee.
Slime will act as both a form of MP (which is used for skills) and Currency (used for upgrading or other stuff), so skills will be powerful tools for getting the upperhand, but too much use can hinder yer growth. I talked about max Slime (I think) but I'm not sure now if I do this. I may make it to where you have slime points, which act as MP, while you can use Slime currecny to refill yer slime points, or you can recharge yer slime points overtime. More on that at somepoint but theres a basic gist.
I'll discuss more of that I have planned for the battle system, but so far I'm leaning towards using a pictured dice system (like in hero quest, battle masters, or heroscape) where the die have 3 attack sides, 2 defense sides, and 1 special side. Not sure what the special is for yet. This is to encourage offense since its a zone control game. Obviously I won't have a clue how many turns this thing would last, and the Map will be much bigger than this one. I will eventually be holding one or more of my mini-contests that I've done in the past, but for those of you already wanting to get on with making a map, DON'T yet. The contest will basically be me making a drawing, not a crude as the one above, of the map outlines and areas, and everyone who entered would make a more stylized concept which would be used in the game. But don't do that yet, as I haven't made the map yet, and still need to figure out how the game will be played before making said map.
I'll eventually make another crude explanation on how battles will work. One thing I forgot to mention is that Inkarina's CANNOT posses eachother, but NPCs will most like be able to be possessed.

Can I add one of my oc's into this game? I currently only have 4 posted on deviant art, all male. But I've got tons of other characters including females on my computer, I just have to post them, but at the moment can male characters still work like my famous oc snakehead?

At some point I'll be offering to add OCs to the game, but I'm still working on how the game works

yeah, this game has got a really hight potential in it^^

hmm, so is the goal to protect the respective teams inkarina? and what must the ocs be? i have one in mind that might be fun for this but i've no idea if it would be usable for this

In the game, everyone plays as an Inkarina. Everyone's going to make their own, but I need to come up with the details.

I think all teams must have identical space from npc and cities, to not make, like, able to capture npc right off the start
