I have to say this is an excellent colour scheme. I think the body pose is really awesome!! I also really love how you drew the girls hands they are so well done I still struggle with hands but you have drawn them spot on!! Her proportions are spot on too, Great anatomy here! Great work!! I also really love how you drew her clothes she is wearing I love how it isn't stiff and is moving correctly. Wonderful job!! Your shading is also really good, I really like how you drew it. You also have great Foreshortening on this girls arms.Β
If there is something that could be worked on a little is that, There should be some more shading around her feet. I also agree with the other commenters saying that the toes don't look like they are touching the ground the toes should be pointing more forward I also agree with RaspberryTickle that the back leg could be lifted up a little higher just to make it look like she is running. Though I do understand that this is an unfinished piece. though these are just small details, other than that this is an awesome piece. Keep up the excellent work!!

I love the colour choice you have used for this WIP, as well as the pose you used for reference. You have transferred it into your style quite nicely. I admire your cartoon style and I think that she looks proportionate in that respect, judging by the size of her head, hands, and feet. I know that this is unfinished and I can tell where you plan to add highlights and shadow by the way you have already presented, but if there is a going to be a background, there does not seem to be a definite source of light. Again, I realise that his is unfinished, so you have time to think about that.Β
I agree with Frost-404 that the foot does not seem to be touching the ground, and maybe that is due to the different style of shoe you chose from the reference. Her toes would need to be a tad more frontal. Right now, she looks too dainty to be running from something. That is another thing I would like to point out. The pose from the waist up looks great, but her feet don't seem to matching or conveying "run" to me. The pose you referred to looks like more like a fast walk. Perhaps lifting her back leg a little will help with creating the illusion that she is running. I couldn't really find any examples on what I meant, I'm sorry. And perhaps this illusion will be more effective when the piece is finished.Β
Other than just those minor details, you have done excellent so far in conveying the movement you want to create! Keep working at it!

Thanks for the input, I will try raising the back foot a bit, I understand what you mean by that. I can definitely see that the front foot needs to be planted on the ground with the toes more forward. I appreciate the feedback thanks βΊ

ProjectComment Not bad, but for helping you on her run, maybe you could define an horizon line, it would help you to see how to put his feet on the ground. An other advice, if its a drawn without model, try to define a skeleton, main line for his body in sort of keeping proportion. Because in that state, her left arm seems to be folded two times instead of one and their hands seems to be a little too big for a girl of this age. She might be between 13-16 years old (answer me if im wrong ^^), even at this age she must have a little cleavage but you dont have any shadow to define it on her chest (unless she have to endure the curse of being a breadboard xD ). Color are fine, but for a last advice, define a base color then paint on it. Many people who do digital painting do it on this way cause its better. Good work!

Thanks for the constructive feedback, the size of the hands, feet and head is intentional. It is supposed to be a cartoony character, not a realistically proportioned one. I definitely had trouble with that left arm though, I think I'll go back and try to fix that. It is taken from a photographic model with the proportions adjusted to suit the cartoon nature of the character, if you look at the "info", there is a link to the original picture. I am loosely modelling the character after my own daughter who is 11 years old. I can see, now that you mention it, that the front foot does not look like it's planted on the ground. I'll fix that up too, this is why I wanted some feedback before spending a lot of time on colour, thank you.

Wow, I really love her outfit.Β The fact that her shoes, belt, and bag match is oddly refreshing to me, and I love the pop of color with her tights.Β Her hair is also really cute.
