"Whose this lovely shark?" Is what you may be asking yourself as you stare at this bodacious shark. Her name is Vortex, second name unknown only given to those she trusts. Her starting career was a space pirate, robbing cargo from unfortunate individuals and selling them on the black market for a high profit. While she was rolling in mass amounts of credits, the Federation took not of her and on one unfortunate day, she was under their custody. From that point she had two options. Join the Federation, or remain locked up in prison for quite the long time. Being the freedom seeker she was, she had no idea but to join and work under the federation. The thing about her, she has quite the rebellious character. She wasn't the type to be given orders and obey it like some kind of guard dog. Over and over she's been getting into trouble with authority, at certain points getting grounded.

It was at a certain point that she couldn't take it any more. During a patrol with a fellow federation officer, she was ordered to shoot down a pirate owned ship, thing is, she knew who that ship belonged to, a fellow accomplice of her. When the pressure became too much, she shot down the officer's ship resulting in a death chase with the Federation. You would think a skilled pilot like her could handle herself but against a fleet of Federation officers, she was as good as dead. Her ship was shot down and scattered through space. They federation assumed she was dead, but little did they know that her cockpit was still intact, carrying an unconscious Vortex. The capsule ended up crashing into earth on the outskirts of a certain city. Lucky for her, a pony by the name Vex just happened to be around the area. She quickly picked up the unconscious shark and took her to her apartment where she nursed her back to health.

The two ended up living together for a while till the federation caught a whiff of Vortex still being alive. Days later armed Federation officers raided the apartment along with their commander. Once again she was ordered to work for them, this time, she refused till Vex had a gun pressed against Vex head by the commander. The two had bonded over their time together, so the commander had an upper hand to the shark. Unable to do much, she complied, turning around and letting her hands get cuffed. As she was taken outside, Vex said she wanted to join her. Of course Vortex pushed her away, but Vex was equally as rebellious as her. The commander had checked Vex files and saw that she would prove of some use and decided to take her in. Not before they placed an android replica of her to replace her slot on earth. After all was done Vortex and Vex were now owned by the Federation. The story of the two continues from there.
