OMG YAY FIRST EVER GC........and yes this is the entre for the contest...though i have to make it a smaller size becasue there is a size limit.......grrrr...............i hate the size limit.......

Well I can Give you some text and advice in words :
When you open photoshop you go to window->layers...
When you are in layers you will see that your first layer is called 'background' and that the layer is locked, DUPLICATE that layer
Make one new layer , and call that layer :coloring. Now you will see that every layer has a bar with Opacity, flow, and normal. Set the opacity around 70-75 procent (that gives a nice color) And put the layer on multiply! (Opacity and multiply are very important!! multiply makes you color over the line art without erasing the lines)
Now you can color ^^ ( a little old thing from me [link] )
When you color you will see that you can also change the flow and opacity from your brush tool, That way you can create very nice shadows! Try putting the opacity on 4 % and try to shadow!
I hope this helped a bit 
Ah one more thing, you can make as many layers as you want, but always put them on multiply!
