He was a thief and con-man who robbed the rich to help the poor, until a strange old man with mystical powers tought him the error of his ways and set him on a new path, a path of honesty and justice.

Those lessons are what lead Kane to be chosen as the Red Elemental Ranger. Sometimes he's tempted to revert to his old ways, will he? His Power is to control Fire.
