The vision and originality of this piece are well developed and thought out, the monsters scale makes it terrifying as well as the jagged teeth and spines.
However the presentation of the monster doesn't give the piece much impact as well as the multiple effects all over the screen make the image too noisy and difficult to read.
I would suggest a different camera angle that places the monster towards the center of the screen or just offset looking up at it will give a more imposing sense of scale and removing alot of the effects or limiting them to areas of impact so you can focus on the monster and the character more. It might be beneficial to add a light source behind the monsters head like the sun setting/rising or the glow from an explosion to differenciate its colour from the background and draw your eye towards it more.
The texturing on the environment and the monster could also do with a bit of work as they are lacking details and this seems to be why there might be so many effects to try to cover the bland areas they create?

I'm usually not a fan of obvius digitised graphics. You can clearly see that from the mountain / iceberg and a bit of the monsters head. But I feel that it would be unjust to criticize you. You did and excellent job on this one water and splash effects you did on this one. Goin to put this in my favourites.

I'm not accusing you of anything. By digitized graphics I meant that you can clearly see that the image has been made on a computer program. I don't mean to sound rude but I am more in favor of traditional art as in paintings or drawings. Besides, I complimented you on this piece. There's nothing wrong with it. You are clearly skilled and talented and it shows. I was merely expressing my own personal opinion. Hopefully I have resolved mixup.

It does look amazing. I always said you have a wonderful imagination my friend and you keep proving me right. Good luck with the contest I have seen several entries and it seems to be bringing out the best in a lot of artists. It seems to have inspired you as well.
