Liz feels insecure and is secretive about the fact she is a lesbian, as her family would not accept her and possibly would disown her. Her parents are very critical of her appearance as well. Liz keeps her sexuality a secret and tries to be peppy and outgoing to make up for her insecurity. She's a very small built lean girl with a passion for fitness. Liz tries every sport possible and all the extracurricular activities she can to impress her family- as her parents are obvious about their favor to her younger sister. Liz plays in a regional symphonic band, does fitness videos, runs track for her college, plays volleyball, and runs marathons in her spare time. She uses running to clear her head.

Liz feels like the black sheep of the family and buries her feelings down and hides it behind her peppy happy exterior. Although her family doesn't believe in the diagnosis, she's clinically depressed and has anxiety as a result of the pressure put on her by her parents and their lack of understanding.
