Description
2nd Part of my Tribute to Leelah AlcornHonestly this is probably my worst outfit i have designed, and the fault lies with my own personal tastes.
I wanted Empower to have the feel of the classic female power hero, like Ms. Marvel, Power Girl, ext. And while trying to keep that feel i tried to blend it with a more modern look that is more respectable than the aforementioned characters' outfits. I don't know if it is my dislike for the classic power female look, or if i just did not blend it right.
a few things of note for this outfit the small white shapes on the shoulders are meant to correlate a wing like pattern on the back of the outfit, with the tips of the feathers wrapping around the shoulder like a shielding embrace.
on the skirt design, I wanted to avoid the "problems" of the skin tight body suit i had to add one. yet when making skirts for superhero's to make them realistic for combat typically they have to be long and wide (or be so short as to be basically non-existent), so the character can take wide stances.
But for this one I wanted to keep it a medium length and narrow. so to allow the freedom of movement required for typical hero work I cut a gap in it at the side to allow it to expand and widen when needed.
as always this is merely a concept peice.
Hope you all like it and please leave a comment on what you think.
anyone want to do a sketch or piece of Empower, please send me a note to ask first. While I did say she would be a community character, she will eventually be going into my comic book universe and join several of my other characters to form a team, and i would like i least a little control over her distribution as to keep her representation accurate and respectable to the memory of the real Leelah Alcorn.
Thank you and again please do not steal, distribute or use without express permission from myself.

told you i had it covered.
you can do it with either but when you read the whole profile *wink*, this to be the outfit of her released form. her "Trapped" form is a more low key black Capris and T-shirt with a jacket.
as to be like 2 sides of the same coin. casual vs hero, stealth vs power.
in the storyline i am going to play it like her Released form is what she wants to be, but she is not completly herself while in it. the more she rejects her trapped form as her real self the more male she looks while in it, but the more she accepts it as her true self the more female she gets.
the main point i am going with here is that accepting how you see yourself while reject how other people choose see you, the closer you get to your body reflecting what is on the inside.
It sound a lot better inside my head, I am a novelist and can't do short hand explanations very well. lets just say it is wo(man) vs self conflict. and the 5 other characters I am throwing into her story are going to help her through it in various ways.

well she is going into my comic book, as part of the mid-west division of heroes, based out of the Detroit area. and 3 out of those 5 are other heroes the other 2 are civies, 1 part of the team, and the other well *spoilers*
I still have to make their profiles, draw up their outfits, all while prepping for a kickstarter and the publishing of Flashfire #1, converting issues #2-10 into script form, doing about 50 other characters running around my head, all while taking 18hrs of college classes
too much to do, not enough time, brain never stops making new things. *slams head on desk*
