Description A few months ago, an idea popped into my head and then I obsessively drew that idea for the next couple weeks. That idea was Gypsy, an oversized, overweight naga. The Yin to my dragon OC Daggett's Yang. Even wrote a bio for her. . .

At the dawn of humanity, many, many thousands of years ago, the gods were much more involved with humans than they ever were before or afterward. Especially one snake goddess, Naga, who even created a whole parallel world for her to play and frolic with her favorite humans. Naga even would share her own power with the humans, named “nagas” after her, so that they might be closer to her. When the other gods learned of this, they became outraged; they couldn’t risk the possibility of humans attempting to over throw them. They immediately dealt with Naga and her half-god pets, burning her parallel world, killing all the humans she enchanted, and locking Naga herself into the darkest pit in the underworld. Beaten, broken, and demoralized, Naga swore that the pit the gods cast her down in would not be the end of her. She rebuilt her parallel world, now called Er, and hid it way so the gods would never find it. But instead of the paradise it once was, it was now as twisted and fragmented as Naga herself had become.

To populate Er, humans would then be kidnapped from our world and summoned as nagas. The new nagas were not created to play, but instead to ultimately fuel the Naga Goddess’ revenge. Once there, they would slowly loose more and more of themselves as they grew. Nagas grow in two different ways, they either grow bigger as they age or they consume other living beings and absorb their energy. Once the nagas reached their “maximum” size, they’d be consumed by the Goddess Naga herself to grow more powerful. Nagas never actually stop growing, but when they’re big enough to be useful to the Goddess they’re taken. In this way, she hopes to one day grow powerful enough to break free of the underworld and destroy the gods. Any nagas left in Er when this day comes will serve as warriors in the Goddess’ attack.

Gypsy was summoned to Er in either the late 1980’s or early 1990’s, she can’t remember which. The young woman suddenly found alone herself in a strange and hostile jungle world with only fragmented memories of her human life. The fact she was alone was actually fairly unusual, most freshly summoned nagas find themselves in the “center” of Er. Instead, Gypsy was in a remote corner of the jungle world that, had the other nagas known of, would have been one of the most heavily colonized parts of Er. You see, all of the trees were naturally occurring grocery stores. (It’s important to note that nothing is actually made in Er, everything you could imagine simply grows somewhere: bowling-balls, can-openers, USB flash drives, mattresses, even trees that grow other trees! The trick is simply finding the right patch of trees that grow what you need.) With no one to compete with and a nearly endless supply of food, Gypsy did what anyone who was lonely and stressed would do: She started stress eating.

Gypsy stress ate so long and so hard, three solid years of binge eating just about anything that wasn’t canned (Not because she refused to eat canned food, but because the tress that grew can-openers were on the other side of Er.), that she managed to completely throw her metabolism and growth rate out of whack. Unlike humans, who store fats in their bodies, nagas convert food energy almost straight into growing power; which is exactly what happened to Gypsy. For her first decade in Er, Gypsy grew five times faster than normal. The young naga went from less than 8 feet long to well over 50 feet long in the same time it takes most new nagas to reach 15 feet. As well as doing something most nagas never do, grow a substantial layer of body fat. However, her new size was not at total positive. Reaching such a massive size so quickly meant she never became fully coordinated with her lower body, and her weight meant she often had difficulty maneuvering properly anywhere other than the ground. Thankfully, her growth did finally start to slow down after her first ten years in Er. She was now only growing twice as fast. It wasn’t until Gypsy’s 12th year did she finally encounter another naga, named Christina.

Christina was an explorer of Er, and had finally discovered the glade Gypsy had lived in. When the two nagas first met, Gypsy didn’t even remember her real name. All she could remember was a TV show that featured a character that like her was big and purple, so Gypsy figured why not make it three for three? Christina was shocked to learn that despite being twice as old as Gypsy she was only half her size. Gypsy craved company and any kind of answers about her and the world around her. Christina was more than happy to oblige.

After living together peacefully for roughly six months, Gypsy one day woke up to discover Christina trying to constrict and eat her! Gypsy had no problem overpowering and pinning the smaller naga to the ground, despite Christina’s head start.

“What the hell are you doing!?” Gypsy demanded.

“It’s what nagas do. They eat each other. You mean you’ve never felt the ‘hunger’ before?” Christina replied coolly.

“N-no, I haven’t. And I don’t expect to start eating my fellow nagas anytime soon!” Gypsy screamed.

“Oh really? I can see it in your eyes right now, you’re feeling it. Aren’t you?”

Gypsy was terrified; she really could feel this ‘hunger’ growing in the back of her mind, getting stronger. She wasn’t going to be able to hold back much longer.

“But, I don’t want to hurt you. . .”

“It’s okay,” said Christina never loosing the cool in her voice, despite her own looming doom. “I did the same thing to my first friend here, too.”

The next thing Christina saw was Gypsy’s hypnotic eyes, and then nothing. All the while, Gypsy seemed to be totally helpless to stop herself, as if she had lost control of her own body. Then, she was alone again. Gypsy finally learned about the land she now lived in, what she was, and about “the hunger”.

Over the next eleven years, eight more nagas came to Gypsy’s glade, each returning from a failed quest to find the way out of Er, not that they couldn’t find the gateway out, but because there was a puzzle that was unsolvable to nagas keeping the gateway locked. Disheartened and broken, they’d find comfort with Gypsy, but only for a short time. Inevitably, one would always turn on the other, whether it was Gypsy or her new companion, Gypsy would always find herself alone again. After the sixth naga, she began to save herself the pain of false hope, and simply began to attack other nagas on sight.

Gypsy would have become a total monster, had it not been the intervention of a small dragon named Daggett who found himself banished to Er by accident.

So yeah, the adventure will continue.

I don't care who you are, if you are THAT BIG, you are Walking! ... Or Slithering in this chick's case.

And don't say, "well he HAD to carry her, she clearly injured herself. can't you see the bandage?" Why yes, yes I can- and I can see that the bandaged area is apparently being dragged through the dirt if they've been walking like this! Like, with all due respect, What's the point of being carried to protect the bandaged area if protecting the bandage from being tore off from rubbing against the ground isn't the top priority?

She would've won if it weren't for all those cakes.

If it weren't for all those cakes, she wouldn't have nearly crushed Daggett into a fine paste.

That is a lot of snarky snake-lady.

Very neat backstory, Blake! Good thing Dagget got there, eh?

It sure is! Now she can rediscover her humanity! From a dragon. . . It's complicated.

And WOO!! People like her backstory! I'll try to get to work on Dag's soon, too.
