i need help. in adobe flash when you make a sound layer you can only get the sound to play if you start from the beginning and it wont stop if you stop the animation. why is that, and can i fix it?

I have that too!! What an easiest way to stop it is to go to the place where you an change your sound like change how it fades or uprises click custom edit and click cancel. this will not change the sound how ever stop its playback. .. I haven't had my computer in a while but that's how I stopped it

In the properties for the audio clip (just click on the audio when it's in the timeline), you'll see Sound, Effect, and Sync. Change Sync to "Stream". That should fix your problem.
It's actually not a button, it's a tab.
It's the same tab that you use to set the brush smoothing or the pencil size.
On my version of Flash (Macromedia 8) it's at the bottom. The Actions tab is above it.
