I've been noticing a lot of ranting against Danny Phantom OC's and thought this might just be the right time to post this.The views expressed in this deviation are all mine even if they are shared by many others. The point behind this is not to bash out on people's view of how Danny should choose his love life, but rather not to transform the original Danny into something he isn't. (Which is your perfect, tailer made, boyfriend.) For those of you out there who are creating ridiculous OC's, I beg of you to ask yourselves which do you keep most at heart when thinking of Danny Phantom: Danny Fenton the shy, clueless, funny, honorable, selfless hero or a fantasie based on what you find attractive.
Yes we all want Danny, to meet him, to be his friend and even help him fight ghosts in Amity Park
But it's Danny Fenton we want not a fantasie. By creating OC's with ridiculous powers and other nonsense you are altering his story and who the character really is. As a proud fan of Danny Fenton and the story created by Butch Hartman, I found it was my obligation to stand up for what I beleive in: a fandom that doesn't trash other people's beleifs and respects the characters that we all love
I have spoken from the heart and I dare you to do the same.

For the record I agree 100% of what you've said. I do not agree with Danny X OC to me I din't agree with it
But I also have created my self as a ghost in the DP univers to, but I am NOT shipping us XP I only suport TWO ships, one) Sam X Danny and two) not telling. I'm most likely going to try to convince clueless1 to realize his feelings for Sam, one way or another ^^.

Imagination is something I take at heart. Every day and night it is my loyal companion.
It can be original or it can be corny. But in the end all the products of our creativity come out as something personal and unique. When I posted this deviation I did not intend it to be a summary of all OC's. Second, I hated Phantom Planet and most of the last season for reasons like yours I didn't find it very convincing. Especially how Sam completely changes in the end of PP. Don't you think?
But finally, to sum it all up, the intention was not to bash out angry ugly or mean things out at OC owners like yourself, but rather to express my opinion on what is truly Danny Phantom to me. The story of Danny Fenton the real character of the series.
Imagine Create! Please don't stop being human (: but please dont transform or change the original too much. Remember it's about Danny not Misty

I don't make OCs for him because I find him attractive (yet he's a pretty hot character) I make them because the DxS pairing has many flaws within itself (due to underdevelopment/backwards development within Sam and Danny in the 3rd season due to shitty new writers) and I think both characters can do a lot better. We think outside of the box and do not bow down to the rules of pure canon. We expand our imaginations, and you're telling us to stop imagining?
Danny and the entire show altogether is based off of someone's vivid imagination. That's what all OCs and canon characters are.

LOL. I used to have a Danny Phantom OC xD After a while though, I realized that I hated people who did OC's with other things and I felt hypocritical so I stopped O.o
