That's because the Blood Angels aren't a zealous chapter, and the Imperium will quite often ally with xenos who abhor Chaos. The IOM are pretty much battlebrothers with Ultwe post the Thirteenth Black Crusade.

That's because the Eldar and Tau are the kinds of race you'd most likely expect to make truces with....compared to a race of dead people who want every single microorganism dead. On the other hand, dem Necrons have been retconned for added variety (compared to older editions which just had different paint jobs and origins) at the cost of being less Grimdark....for better or worse so the whole "Truce with the Blood Angels" does at least make sense now.

At least he's getting better at the whole thing with the Necrons I guess...which if he's going to be around for some time might as well be a bloody start...
