Description
I usually rock the Black Iron Armour Set, but the Elite Knight is much more iconic.*Spoilers for those who haven't played Dark Souls*
T_T I feel so terrible.
I didn't know about what would happen to Solaire as the game progressed and when I found him all crazy I just noped my way out of there. Then I realized I couldn't just leave him like that, so I put him out of his misery. It was only AFTER I discovered I could stop that from happening.
I like to think that I carried his body out of Lost Izalith and back up to the surface, burying him where I joined the Sunbro covenant. This man is the real hero of Dark Souls and I wish I was able to carry on with him to the end. In jolly co-operation.
Keep praising the sun.

Rest in peace fellow convoluted soul, For you no longer have to drift through the eternal sands of time. No longer will you fret the fight ahead or need to traverse the white lighted fog which obscures your vision from what stands in wait ahead.
v.v Poor Solaire, *sniffle Sniffle*

A little fan-made trailer that does justice to Solaire's awesome character.
Actually, I have a little theory about what happens to Solaire after the events of Gwyn's defeat. If you summon Solaire to help defeat Gwyn, then what happens to him after victory is achieved? He wouldn't immediately disappear and go back into depression. Most likely he would stay in the arena a while longer to mourn his newly deceased father. However, that seemingly short amount of time would also give rise curiosity as to what the events playing before him were. You, an undead just like Solaire, are given the choice to link to the bonfire or leave it to rule humanity in the Age of Darkness. Now no matter what decision YOU the player make, doesn't it make sense that Solaire would link himself to the bonfire having been first witness to everything?
True, there is a prophecy saying that only a chosen undead that has escaped from the asylum may fulfill the prophecy. "Thou who art Undead, art chosen... In thine exodus from the Undead Asylum, maketh pilgrimage to the land of Ancient Lords... When thou ringeth the Bell of Awakening, the fate of the Undead thou shalt know..." — Oscar, Knight of Astora
However, Solaire ALSO escaped the asylum as an undead and is just as capable of being the chosen one as you are. "I am Solaire of Astora, an adherent to the Lord of Sunlight. Now that I am Undead, I have come to this great land, the birthplace of Lord Gwyn, to seek my very own sun!" —Solaire of Astora, upon first meeting the chosen Undead."The way I see it, our fates appear to be intertwined. In a land brimming with Hollows (a.k.a. the Asylum), could that really be mere chance? So, what do you say? Why not help one another on this lonely journey?" —Solaire of Astora, introducing the Chosen Undead to summoning.
In this case, your ending choice is changed to letting both you and Solaire become the Chosen Undead of the prophecy or just let Solaire link himself to the fire and you will leave to bear witness to the events of the future. Now before you get skeptical I, myself, was quite unsure of this being actual possibility. That is, until Dark Souls II was released. In the description of the sublime bone dust that strengthens the estus flask it says "They say these are the remains of a saint who cast himself into the bonfire." Solaire fits the definition of saint perfectly considering he is:
1) A radical dude who is kind to everyone he meets
2) The son of Lord Gwyn (god of sunlight) and was a former god of war himself. This would explain that he was "god-like" in every human action he performed and also strived toward being reverend (which is what saints are famed for doing)
In the end, Solaire actually SUCCEEDED in finding his own sun by literally becoming the sun and his selfless deed will aid future chosen undead for the rest of eternity.
Sorry for taking up so much space. I just LOVE talking about Dark Souls lore and this theory of mine was something I couldn't bottle up anymore.

I like it. Love the video it was very good. I propose an alternate take on it though. From software explicitly said that the War God, the son of Gwyn is not in the game, and that formerly it was going to be Andre (who is also a bro) until the idea got scrapped.
My alternate take stems from this line:
"We are amidst strange beings, in a strange land.
The flow of time itself is convoluted, with heroes centuries old phasing in and out.
The very fabric wavers, and relations shift and obscure.
There's no telling how much longer your world and mine will remain in contact."
Meaning that time is wonky and your personal worlds won't stay in contact the whole time. But if you manage to slay the sunlight maggot when your worlds are touching, it will spare him long enough that he fights all the way to the Kiln of the First flame before leaving his summon sign before he defeats Lord Gwyn in his world. This makes him three things A.) an immeasurable bro-tier dude for wanting to help others who make it that far B.) hardcore badass for making it all that way with regular gear and C.) the Chosen undead of his cycle.
It's my head-canon and merely conjecture but if we're putting all Solaire related dark souls theories on the table there's mine.
