Description
NagasA long-lived race of oviparous, serpentiform hunters most commonly found in the southern regions. Nagas often grow to exceptional lengths as they age and may appear heavy and sluggish to an observer, but most of their lower body mass is comprised of knotted muscle, and not only they are quite strong but can move with frighteningly swift quickness should they feel like it. Their scaly figures come in an immense array of colour patterns, from the plain to the strikingly beautiful, and although they all possess wicked bendable fangs, not all nagas are venomous, and of those only a small fraction are considered lethal. Females are physically larger and stronger than males, with enhanced muscle mass in their upper bodies at the cost of agility Like the rest of their reptilian kin, they are cold-blooded, and during times of extreme temperature changes they either retreat to more suitable lands or hibernate until the climate balances again.
Nagas are extremely adaptable and can be found in almost all environments, with some breeds even taking to life in the trees or the open ocean. While some eke out solitary lives in the wilderness, others coexist with other civilized races and form small family clans. Hatchlings come out to the world already capable of hunting for themselves, but in most cases they stay with their relatives for several years, receiving all the care and education that is possible for them. Naga family units are very affectionate and close to each other, even gathering in sleeping piles in order to conserve warmth.
Nagas, along with their relatives the trasgus, are often seen with a degree of fear by other races, in part because of their cold, distant appearances, the possible threat of lethal bites, and even the idea that nagas can swallow people whole, a completely baseless and ridiculous idea likely brought up by superstition and ignorance. While it is true that nagas tend to look over their own safety and their families’ over those of others, and that solitary ones make silent, deadly killers, the average naga is just as passionate as any other, and the vast majority pursue quiet, peaceful lives.
Milk Nagas
A significant number of nagas living in the north stand out from the rest of their kind and indeed all other reptilian races by their extremely unusual physiology. So-called for their fair skin, the upper bodies of milk nagas are disturbingly similar to those of hominid species such as fey, orcoids, jotun or humans, though their lower bodies are still scaled and serpent-like, and their genetic code is nearly identical to that of common nagas. Scholars have multiple theories over how such a thing is possible, from genetic dregs of naga ancestors coupling with proto-nymphs, to chaotic merging of mammal and reptile through rampant magic, to the possibility they were artificially bred, but no conclusion has ever been reached and the topic is still hotly debated to this day. As it stands out, milk nagas simply are.
Aside from their aberrant looks, and a percentage of them being viviparous, milk nagas are not that different from common nagas and come in just about as many breeds and scale patterns. If anything, they are more well received than their relatives and tend to be looked down by other reptilians in the southern lands, who do not consider them “true” cold-bloods.
Lamias
The offspring of a male naga and a nymph. Half-nymph hybrids are for the most part unremarkable, but lamias deserve special mention for their unusual abilities, possibly a latent nymph skill unlocked by naga genes. Scent glands located in a lamia’s collarbone produce a concentrated reproductive pheromone of intoxicating smell that males of every species find irresistible. Even the strongest-willed individuals or those with previous knowledge of a lamia’s effects have difficulty not falling into the lure, submitting to her and driven to please her by all means possible. Lamias in civilized areas usually settle into a life of swindling and manipulating men for their own goals, but in more dangerous lands they become literal man-eaters, using their skill to draw in and either mate with or devour chosen victims.
Lamias are aware of the fear and revulsion they inspire on other races, and seem to be proud of it.

I like how the female nagas that look like anthropomorphic snakes are not given breasts. It always bothered me whenever I see anthropomorphic animals that are not mammals have breasts even though humans have breasts to nurse young and to attract people.

I've read the description for Lamias.
Now, the one represented here seems to be all smug and scornful.

So I guess the one of the bigger threats about lamia is that they're virtually indistinguishable from Milk Naga.

Well, the lamias seem to have pointy ears, contrary to the nagas. At least, to those represented here.

From a Lamia's point of view, there's plenty of good Lamias
And yes they do

Hold on a tick; thought nagas don't eat other demi-humans. Not whole anyway.

Yeah, that's where I got the quote from.
Just saying its a bit of a contradiction for one of them to say its a racist myth that they eat other races whole while sporting a rather obvious and intact human shaped belly bulge.
Should at least have a leg or foot bubbling up in a cauldron after serving some human guests meat sandwiches...shows you're not being greedy at

Well,
1) Either an attempt at a joke from someone who doesn't understand/know the official myths of the two species, or
2) A non-critical look at the two and which one looks like they could swallow someone whole. My vote would be for the snake-headed ones with the assumed detachable jaw.
In either case didn't mean anything serious by my comment.

While Lamia do eat people, they can't swallow them. That's why they have teeth.

I've seen several various reasons of separating Nagas from Lamias, but yours, my friend, is about the best laid out theory to date - beats lumping every half-snake bod into the same category; aka "nagas". Here's to Part 2!

Why am I not surprised to see a nicer translation of the "Southern people are racist" stereotype? (-_-#)
Aside from what bothers me as a Native Georgian (while ironically a Florida Gator fan), very awesome.

We didn't mean anything by that, full nagas are more adapted to living in warm/hot lands, like those closer to the equator, then milk nagas.
So, in reality, milk nagas even further south of them would consider the "northern nagas" racist
