Description
In the mansion on the top of the hill at the end of the town. A young girl lives alone in her large empty home.

As the young leopard sat in her room one night playing games on her phone she was startled as she heard the faint rumbling of thunder in the distance. She quickly grabbed her earphone and ran into the closet and closed the door behind her. She could however still hear those awful sounds. So she sat in the corner, put in her ear phone and cuddled her tail while repeating “I’m safe now, I’m safe now”.

Moments later there was a knocking on the closet door but she couldn’t hear it. The doors of the closet were then pulled open to find the leopard quivering in the corner her eyes closed with music blaring and her face pressed against her tail. As a firm hand reached out and grabbed hers she opened her eyes and was greeted by a familiar smile “J-Jacqueline” she said as the young lion pulled her to her feet. He then pulled her close not saying a word. As Jamie’s head nestled against his shoulder she didn’t care about the thunder anymore because for that moment to her there was nothing but the two of them.

Jacqueline still smiled in silence as he grabbed her hand once more and lead her to the door. Jamie didn’t care where she was going as long as they were together. Jacqueline then lead her down the large flight of stairs and through many rooms and finally out the back door. Jacqueline then placed his hands on her ears and removed the headphone as then a soft whistle was heard and followed by a terrifying bang. Jamie quivered as she launched herself into Jacqueline’s arms and closed her eyes. The large rumbling became louder and more frequent as she thought “Why would he do this, He knows I’m…” her thought was interrupted when she felt a tapping on her shoulder. She opened her eyes to see Jacqueline pointing up. As she looked at him with his smile she then looked up to the sky. She was astonished to see no rainclouds but instead a colourful display of explosions in the sky. She looked all around her taking in the marvelous view. But stopped when she saw that same smile on Jacqueline’s face. She didn’t know what she should say, after she nearly missed such a sight, after he was so nice to her.

As the words began to form in her mind the young leopard began to slowly open her mouth. She the felt Jacqueline hand grip hers tighter as he began to lean forward. Her heart began to pound as there was only inches between them. She never thought this would happen and with someone she cared so much for. Jacqueline then spoke in a soft voice “Happy New Year” he said as he leaned closer and kissed her.
