I made a post on Tumblr about how I view Guzma as having a father/older brother dynamic with Gladion, so I drew this about how I'm guessing they met. Since I'm still running the theory that Gladion ran away from the Aether Foundation after having been experimented on and becoming UB-02E (which was my theory about him), I imagine one day he happened upon Guzma and the two probably had a battle or some shit. Impressed by the kid's strength/giant chimera dog-monster and relating to the kid as a fellow reject, he decided to offer him membership.Related content

I'm running a slightly different theory now that the UBs were (publicly by the company) revealed to be catchable. He was still likely experimented on (and perhaps maybe he is partially a UB, but unable to transform), which could explain his odd behavior in battles, because I don't really know what could be up with his constant shaking otherwise.
