Description
I have been asked to make a tutorial on how I make Fakemon by many people, so I hope you all will be satisfied with what I've brought to you! : DP.S. I forgot to mention that the bat is called "Batnana" XD.

Okay!
So, the basic PokΓ©mon is called Lapita (Lapis Lazuli + Akita), it's a small blue dog like PokΓ©mon with the colours of a Lapis Lazuli gemstone.
The first evolution is called Turqusky (Turquoise + Husky), it's more mature in this phase, and is Turquoise blue with black markings. It's more like a wolf than Lapita.
The final evolution is Timberchite (Timber Wolf + Malachite), and I have to say this, I sort of got inspiration from Malachite from Steven Universe. It has 6 legs instead of 4 like it's previous stages. It's more teal/jade coloured. It's a Water/Poison type, since actual Malachite dust is toxic.
I'll give you a picture of them when I'm finished.
(I've also done the first stage of the Grass Starter. A bird named Mapuffin (Maple + Puffin) I'm thinking of giving it a final evolution named Everdream (Sorry I just like that name)(It's also Evergreen + Dream) and would probably be Grass/Psychic type.)

I really like Batnana although I kind of think it should evolve from something.

I seem to recall it actually did evolve from a rat of some sort, but I sincerely forgot where I put its sprite ahah

I can't find a way to shade the Pokemon

You just have to pick a darker shade of the main colour and mark out its body shapes with it

If I may ask a question... I've been busy spriting my fakemon and I've been having trouble making limbs... especially clawed feet. I'm mainly making these for a project which require the dimensions of the sprite to be 160 by 160 yet the fakemon is quite small. Is there a way or a trick to make a fakemon sprite "feel" smaller or bigger?
Thanks for posting this.

I'm not sure what you're asking me, to be honest! Do you want to increase the size of your sprites like...without having to redraw them completely? Is that what you meant?

Phantaeon In reply to blazeknight-94 [2015-08-11 13:33:12 +0000 UTC]
I worded that question in a very dumb way. What I meant to ask was how you sprite legs that are facing directly towards the player/into the camera.

Uhm...I'd say that the best way to go about it would be to firstly draw half of the sprite, then flip it (so that it looks simmetrical). But then you should make a couple of adjustments here and there in order to make it look..less simmetrical, you know what I mean? Maybe you move one of the arms up or down, or you pose the leg in a different way...having it perfectly simmetrical could result in a very boring result, so you should spice it up a bit.
Did this answer your question? XD

Wow, all of that in Paint, I'm jealous >_< I use Paint too, but I've never thought to do it like this. Do you have any tips for sketching a fakemon? I've always had problems with sketching monsters or animals and what not, and I really want to try this method.

Hmm, ok so you have a lot of views and comments so I hope you see this just to let you know this is an amazing guide and it will help me improve greatly on all future Fakemon, I've been happy with them so far especiallyΒ Mariine but now I will go back over the lot and make sure they really feel special rather than just basic variations of things.
It would be amazing if you could maybe look at the ones I've done so far through Mariines link and maybe let me know if by the standards of your guide they are a thumbs up or if I should rethink those too
Lee ^^ sorry for the length heh
