You might want to add a bright color inside to help express that. Otherwise it just looks like some God is giving a big yawn.

The pupils really help. You can more obviously tell it's looking at you now, and that the face on the top of its head is decorative (unless it's not for whatever reason, but I'm just talking visual information here).
