I love the realism. It took me a while to see it was not a practical piece. If you want to avoid military hardware, how about exploration bots for the Moon and Mars? Prospectors and such. maybe even builders, to build habitats before humans arrive.

would be interesting to see the dumpster/receiver this thing walks up to when it needs to empty itself! I am guessing it simply reverses the suction and blows the contents of the storage container downwards into the bin.
needless to say, these are both awesome! I can see the students at Carnegie Mellon University building these. Or maybe, Redzone Robotics.

Man. It's not supposed to be realistic, so it's fine if people say it's photoshopped. As in fact, it is digital artwork, made using applications like (3ds max, photoshop or similar stuff.)

It looks great. You could have only desaturated the colours which are too vivid comparing to the background image. I am also not sure about the specular. It looks as if the spherical image which was used for the reflections was far too bright.Β
