Description
Almost done with my first posable art doll! This is my dragon, Eunmi, who has been a work in progress since I sculpted the head last year. The rest of her body was done over the winter break, and now all she needs is fur and a complete paint job! Right now her head is almost completely painted, and my goal is to have her finished by the end of the weekend
Made with super sculpey, twisted wire, airtex foam, hot glue and lots of love

This is helpful to know the main body structure of art dolls.

Haha yes, although this was my first art doll from many years ago and I do the inside of every doll differently. Some require this method of carving foam and attaching it onto the armature, and for others I wrap sheets of batting on to form the body shape. Im glad that it is helpful though ^_^Β

Love the head! Is it glued onto the wire?

Thank you! There is a pocket drilled into the back of the head, and the wire is shaped like a hook so it wont slip out from the pocket. You can fill the pocket up with hot glue, but for this doll it is filled in with more sculpey and baked shut.

Wait, a second--how can she move with that foam base?

Reposting a response I made to a similar question above:
Shes actually really wobbly and easy to move, even with the foam sculpted body. She stands up on her own and holds the pose really well, but her body foam is soft and squishy and doesn't limit her movement at all. Its a lot like stuffing the doll with polyfill, except this stuff is sculpted to her exact shape and doesnt move around inside once she has fur

Thank you! I know that I definitely appreciated seeing works in progress of other dolls while making my own, it helped me understand the process a lot better, so I hope my WIP will help someone else as well ^_^

Thank you! Eunmi is actually finished now, I have to post some pictures of her completed here XD And that is so true, I knew I was going to need a lot of foam for this, so I asked for it as a Christmas gift ^^

Oo this looks awesome! Im surprised to hear that shes poseable- I would have thought the foam prevented movement?
