A commission from to do a more redesigned Vaal Hazak switch axe. (Thanks for commissioning me!)
For this one I went back and forth between the blade used for sword mode. At first I wanted it to resemble a wing that would flip over and then spread out but it didn't transfer well. So instead I took a more "lets bandage this sucker up" approach. Monster Hunter World was great however I feel like it dropped the ball hardcore compared to weapon designs. Hopefully Iceborne will bring some interesting ones out way.

How does this work? The hinge of the top blade is at the top of the blade, it can't be completely on the other side in Axe Mode.
Does the hinge slide inside the blade?

Shh... video game magic. I did try to keep it realistic as possible but couldn’t quite get the same feeling so I smudged it a tinnnnnny bit. The gore magala axe was my main inspiration.
