mmm depends what you want to achieve. If you like line art, and like starting with a line drawing first, you can approach it like traditional drawing. If you want to try out an image without linework first, you can approach it like painting and paint large shapes first before hitting the detail. Either way though, what improves you is not the program, but really the fundamentals in art . Hope that helps!

Np man!!
Make sure you practice the right thing though!
Someone once told me, Practice doesnt make perfect. Practice makes permanent. So if you are practicing the wrong thing, you will be permanently wrong. Kinda woke me up to make sure i am learning correctly. Keep it up man!

I love this. If it was a bit wider I would totally use it as a bg.

Right! I think single strokes add more life to art and allows the spectator to use more of his/her own phantasy

You're welcome!
I really like the way the rough strokes were softened up by using shapes.
How do you pick the color scheme? I am having trouble getting color down.
Do you recommend a way to practice this?

Mmm.. colours a hard one. I still struggle a lot with colour, but as long as your values are good, colour should be easier. Try studying up some oldschool artist and see how they used colour. Its crazy when you find out that what you think is blue is actually a totally different colour.

Awesome! I'm going to see what I can find on value and the relation to color. Now, by oldschool artist you mean Renaissance or Baroque stuff?
Thank you
