Who the hell needs talent and creativity anymore? Just use a few dumb Emo lyrics and you won´t even need colours or a nice concept. Be uncreative, be stereotyped, be without any statement and your work will definetely become a favourite.What I like to say is: Many people at DA use lyrics written by Emo bands. Hey, so do I. But all these people put a lot of work, a little love and a small piece of their soul in their poems, pictures and avatars. They look for a nice background, they choose the colours carefully and they think about a concept, about a special statement within their work.
I don´t think that these people are worth being overlooked because of other people using popular Emo lyrics with the result of getting all the attention.
Being creative doesn´t mean copying popular words on a white background. Being creative doesn´t mean putting a blinking smiley next to the words and calling it "individual".
Being creative means giving people the chance to take a peek into your soul by creating more than just a few black letters on a white screen...

Everyone calls me emo because I have dyed black hair, and because I wear black. (I have other reasons for those though) I hate to see 'emo' be stereotyped. I also hate to see people be wanna-be emos

Why do people get worked up over some little style which people often seem to twist and bend the meaning of, Goth, scene, punk, anime fans, furries, emo and so on. Watching people piss over styles and claim their own pathetic, unoriginal styles and choices in entertainment is better gets obnoxious after real quickly. I looked through this person's gallery to see their "emo lyrics" (I pretty much assumed it'd be alternative band lyrics, which they were). All the fucking flashing hearts gave me a headache.
Also, none of the lyrics in your icons are "emo." They're all from alternative and post-hardcore bands. Emo isn't "emotional" and it is not based on lyrical content. It's "emotive hardcore" and it's based on sound.

it doesnt take much of an artist to write down song lyrics and call it "art" i usualy use songs as inspiration or as a theme for a picture to create a different mood. but just writing it down in a different font or colours is boring and not at all creative. and also its not just "emo" songs, it can be any type of song, either way its not origional.
